What is happening in the Ottawa Real Estate Market
Residential sales during the month of April 2012 indicate a steady real estate market in Ottawa. Ansel Clarke, President of the Ottawa Real Estate Board say, . “Re-sale housing inventory is up by 6.9 per cent since last year, and interest rates continue to be low, indicating that Ottawa remains in a healthy, stable market.”
Ottawa Real Estate Board reports the number of home sales in Ottawa in April 2012 was 1,568 representing a 2.5% increase from the same period last year.
The average sale price of residential properties, including condominiums, sold in April in the Ottawa area was $364,077, an increase of 3.7 per cent over April 2011.
Five Year Average for Feburary Sales in Ottawa: 949
Condo Sales: 300 units in April 2012.
Average Sale Price of Condos was $272,851, an increase of 6.7 per cent over April 2011
Condo sales include all properties listed as condominiums: detached, semi-detached, apartment, life leases, timeshares, stacked, etc.
Residential Property Class Sales: 1,268 in April 2012.
Average Sale Price of Residentials Properties: $385,660 - an increase of 2.6% over April 2011.
Residential Property Class all other residential properties outside of the Condo class.
The average home price for residential properties (including condos) sold in Ottawa in February 2012 was $$364,077. This is a 3.7% increase over the April 2011 prices.
